"I have recently returned home from an amazing trip to Greece wth Catherine Lawlor’s school of art".

"Everything was organised by Catherine, from arriving in Athens airport to being chauffeured back days later. We saw amazing places, we even did an islands hopping day by boat. Each day we did our lessons in beautiful surroundings. Catherine is a wonderful teacher at home and abroad. It makes no difference what level you are, a beginner or not, Catherine is always there for you.
There is absolutely no end to her talent about art, colour, perspective and art history. Thank you Catherine for a wonderful time." 👍👍
"I just wanted to comment about a recent art trip I took to Greece with The Catherine Lawlor School Of Art.
We flew to Athens and were met by the tour guide and coach driver who were then at our disposal for the rest of the week. This service was included as part of the cost of the trip and was well worth it! Talk about feeling pampered!!
We were based in Tolo, a lovely seaside location, which was a quaint town with very friendly locals and beautiful scenery. The hotel was spotless and the service exemplary. What a bonus to be able to go for a daily swim in the sea before breakfast! It proved to be a great place to stay as we were within easy access to the places of interest which Catherine brought us to as part of our course.
The week’s course consisted of sessions observing and sketching what we saw- seascapes initially and then street scenes and places of interest. We also had lessons on various types of perspective which included visits to world heritage sites in order to study Grecian architecture. We were also taken on a day trip around local islands which involved a Mamma Mia moment or two singing from a hilltop retreat only accessible by boat. We sketched in a lovely cove after enjoying a delicious lunch eaten as the locals do! Catherine was kept busy throughout the week working with each student on an individual basis and providing group activities too.
Both beginner and more advanced students were catered for! Super work Catherine! I would definitely recommend this trip to other art enthusiasts and will be looking forward to one of Catherine’s other trips in the future"
"My good friend Rita and I decided to go on the art trip to Greece some time ago. We had no idea what to expect in fact we didn't even know where we were staying.
Leaving the grey in Dublin and arriving to the beautiful blue in Athens was the perfect start.
A black Mercedes collected us and took us to a very quaint hotel the sea literally lapped up against the wall right underneath our veranda. Getting to know the other "artists" on the trip was magic. We sketched on the beach the first day and worked with watercolours. We visited Epidauros arena sketching the steps steeped in history. We visited Nafplio very beautiful and not bad for shopping. Each day was a new adventure we visited wonderful historic places. We became the cast of Mama Mia on a tiny island with white steps leading to a tiny white and blue church. We sailed around some islands in our chartered boats moored in a random spot ate lunch and sketched in Gods paradise. I could go on and on as it was fabulous. It was hard to spend €20 a night on dinner with wine and the weather was fantastic.
Roll on next year."
"I would recommend the Greek trip to anyone who wants to improve their drawing skills. Being in an environment with such wonderful landscapes and seascapes and so many architectural and archaeological features gives you a great opportunity to practice new skills . The trip was relaxed and enjoyable. I learned a lot."
