Art Exhibition Raises €3,150 for St Francis Hospice

For 16th year running Catherine Lawlor's School of Art have been holding an Art Exhibition's in aid of local charities. this year the chosen charity was the St Francis Hospice in Raheny. At the recent Exhibition, held in Malahide Tennis Club, they managed to raise over €3,150.  
Last year it was the Jack and Jill Foundation and previously the beneficiaries of the fund raiser include Temple Street Children's Hospital, Marie Keating Foundation, Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin, CF Hope Foundation, Irish Osteoporosis Society, Down Syndrome Ireland, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Child Vision, Casa Malahide, and the Oncology Ward in Beaumont Hospital.  
This years event which was attended by Mayor Cllr. Anthony Lavin saw over 155 paintings on display by artists from Catherine Lawlor's School of Art in Balgriffen.  
Catherine was delighted with the weekend long event that opened on Friday night with a wine reception in the Tennis Club and continued on over the weekend as visitors came to see works from over 62 different artists covering a wide range of subjects and in a variety of mediums. "I'm so proud of my students and the hard work they put into the exhibition and was delighted to see that 38 of our students paintings sold over the weekend. I want to thank all my students for their hard work" 
Catherine Lawlor runs art classes for students of all abilities starting from beginners to advanced students with a wide variety of classes and workshops to chose from. Classes are held Monday to Friday with morning and afternoon classes with additional evening and Saturday Workshops. At Dublin Art Classes students will enjoy learning and expressing their artistic skills in a fun, relaxed and friendly environment. The classes are kept small so Catherine's teaching style ensures each student receives one to one tutoring and students are often amazed at what they can achieve.
